Community Resources During COVID-19

This is an update of community resources during the COVID-19 situation. Please note that this information may change frequently due to the evolving situation of this pandemic.

We highly recommend calling organizations first to get the most up-to-date information as well as their process for staying safe.

STI/STBBI Testing

If you need STI or STBBI testing urgently, please visit a walk-in clinic at Our Health Centre in Chester or South Shore Regional Hospital, or call 811 for the best process. Until you are able to get testing and treatment, abstain from sexual activities or use condoms or dams.

STI/VD Clinic at the Dickson Building in Halifax

Halifax Sexual Health Centre

Not booking new appointments until at least April. Available for drop off pick up of supplies and birth control if urgent and you are not in isolation.

The Red Door in Kentville

Please call ahead, but you will likely be able to seen. For youth under 30.

Abortion Services

If you need an abortion, you can contact your health care provider or the Choice Clinic at the QEII in Halifax. Their number is 1-833-352-0719.

Abortion Support Services Atlantic

ASSA is not offering transportation or pick up services at this time.

Sexual Violence Services

Harbour House Transition House

Counselling and outreach still being offered by phone, text, or email. Support line available 24/7. Emergency services still available.

SANE Program

If you have experienced a recent sexual assault, you can visit South Shore Regional in Bridgewater or Fisherman’s Hospital in Lunenburg, and tell them you need the SANE program during your triage. You can also call 1-833-577-SANE to start the process via phone. This is considered an urgent service.
