Community Outreach Worker (Summer Student)
Sexual Health Centre Lunenburg County is looking for a post-secondary student to fill their Community Outreach Worker position for the summer of 2018. They will collaborate with the Executive Director to create an outreach plan for Lunenburg and Queens Counties, with a focus on marginalized populations like youth and people disadvantaged as a result of ability, race, nationality, socio-economic status, and gender and orientation. One key component of this outreach program will be to deliver educational programming to the community. They will also reach people through targeted outreach at local fairs, festivals, and other community gatherings. As part of their work, they will conduct research on sexual health, while developing educational resources to promote health and well-being.
We are looking for a post-secondary student eligible for funding under the Canada Summer Jobs program. This may include programs in gender studies, psychology, nursing, education, social work, sociology, pre-med programs, human services, addictions services, and health promotion.
