Halifax Sexual Health Centre. Provides many clinical services, including birth control prescriptions, pap tests, abortion referrals, IUD insertions, and anonymous STI testing. All services are confidential and non-judgmental.
The Red Door. This small centre in Kentville offers clinical sexual health services including gender affirming carea to people age 13-30. They are pro-choice.
IWK Pediatric/Gynecology Clinic. The hospital has a specialized Pediatric/Gynecology Clinic for children and adolescents. Teenagers can self refer themselves for sexual health care.
Sexual Health Nova Scotia. SHNS promotes sexual and reproductive health by providing services and education to everyone. Formerly Planned Parenthood and Nova Scotia Association for Sexual Health. The website is currently being updated to reflect the new name. The SHCLC is a member organization of SHNS.
STI Clinic. Clients can drop in to the STI clinic at the Victoria General in Halifax. Test results, except for HIV results, may be given over the phone. See their brochure here.
National
Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights. National non-profit that advocates domestically and internationally for healthy and responsible sexuality. This organization was formerly known as the Canadian Federation for Sexual Health, but restructured in 2014 as it merged with Action Canada for Population and Development, and Canadians for Choice. SHCLC is a member of this group.
Sex and U. The Society of Obstetricians & Gynecologists of Canada runs a fantastic website that is committed to providing you credible and up-to-date information and education on sexual health.
International
International Planned Parenthood Federation. Advocates for reproductive rights throughout the world, as they believe it is a human right that everyone deserves. The Canadian Federation of Sexual Health is a member of IPPF.
